I purchased them. The surround is painted to match the color of your car. In this case, it is painted "Carbon Black" which is the same color of my car.

The paint job is good, clear coated, etc. If your X5 is not "Carbon Black", these won't work. It must have the M Sport Package or be an M to be "Carbon Black".

It would not look good. Carbon black has a blue tint to it when it is in the sun. You can see some of the blue in the picture.
