Service Appointment(Red symbol)unsure.
Just curious , not sure about the red ' Service Appointment' symbol that I noticed recently when I started my car, is it supposed to briefly light up and then go away mean I need it serviced or only if it stays on ?
Thanks in advance.

1) but in a nice way. When something is pass due it will light red then disappear.
2) You can see how to reset it here (after you fix it) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=360706

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger
