E92 JB3 or Vishnu Procede Rev II CANbus.Help..
Hey Guys,i really need some help on deciding which performance tune i should go with.JB3 or Vishnu Procede Rev II CANbus. Both have good reviews and both have been in field for a long time and its just that one cost less than the other and thats not the issue for me,i just need to know which one is capable of reaching to the Max Hp and which one is more stable and reliable without any issues and so any suggestions or advice would be very helpful. Thanks

My suggestion is do some research on both sites and see what best fits for you needs. To get you started there are two major form factors 1.) ECU Flash (they program your ECU with the tuned software) 2.) Piggy Backs, which is essentially small secondary computer that modifies signals from cars ECU (computer) to the engine. The major players in the Flash option: Dinan GIAC Piggybacks: BMS JuiceBox 3 Vishnu Tuning PROcede Tuner This should help you get started and good luck in your journey. There is really a lot of data to sift through, but there is a TON of good information here and on N54tech.com. The options mentioned above give similar Horespower increases. Good Luck and welcome. |

Welcome to the forum man!
Your question is probably the ultimate one to "stir the pot" on this or any of the other n54 forums. If there were an UNBIASED way to post everyone's experience that has owned both tunes - it could quite possibly become a great answer to this often posed question. It might be great to hear from people that may have simply just sampled both tunes - to those who have gone all the way through with full bolt ons and both tunes. Then again, maybe no amount of opinions and rants will ever squash this question - there are quite a few legitimate arguments on both sides. Why don't you try them both like a few of us have if you haven't been swayed by either tuner's marketing? That way you can form your own opinion about drivablity and customer service. |

This is not even mentioning the other advantages/features the Procede offers (autotuning, code reading/clearing, CAN-based tuning, throttle control, 6mt shift logic, speed delimiter, downpipe fix, and in-dash boost/afr/meth/etc,. displays. All of which is not offered with the jb3. The PnP Jb3 is priced approx $250 lower however. Even after you purchase the additional BT tool which you will need if you want any chance at diagnostic invisibility. And it has its share of proponents. But few of them have ever tried the Procede. Those who have usually find themselves making the switch. There will always be exceptions to every rule of course. But these are the facts as I see them. I think they are accurate and well documented/supported. -C |

I've tried both tunes and eventually settled on the Procede.
JB3 let's you feel the power immediately and I believe is more than sufficient for anyone to tune their N54 to their liking. However, for me, I felt that when there were certain issues with the tune, vague answers were given, sometimes borderline dismissive. Procede gives you a more linear acceleration. It's more of a tune where you can set it and forget it. With the Autotune feature, the car will tune itself everytime you make a do a hard 3rd or 4th gear pull. I find this to be the what did it for me since I don't have the time to drive around and datalog my car for tuning purposes. Both have tons of more features that they continue to add under their belts but as it was stated before, safety played a big role in my decision.

I'll be making the switch from the JB3 to Procede this week and i'll post up my unbiased review afterward.
The JB3 the car hits hard which some people like. It feels more like a on/off switch with the JB3. Either all or nothing feeling. I miss the stock like power delivery where boost builds more gradually. Everyone comments on how smooth the procede is so i figure i'll give it a shot. Plus the CAN integration they can do pretty cool things which is a plus for me.

Just installed the PROcede Saturday and so far, I love it. It is extremely smooth - very smooth power band, no hesitation or inconsistencies, not even right after the install - it just feels like stock in that regard. Of course, it's SO much faster!

I was in the same boat a while back and decided on the Procede. Installed it Friday and I gotta say that it's amazing.
I see that you're local. Feel free to PM me if you would like to meet up sometime and test drive the Procede.

You can always try both as they come with a 14-day money back guarantee and see which you like more. The other option is to see if there are any locals with either tune and see if you can go for a drive with them
I will save the sales pitch for my classifieds threads as it seems every one of these threads has turned into a vendor sales pitch thread recently. Mike |

Thanks for the advice guys,i really appreciate that.It seems like Procede is the way to go so far but im not in rush of deciding,I have a week or so before i order either one of them since My car is in shop for some paint work and and im getting VIS R Tech Full Body Kit installed .So hopefully with all of your help,i'll decide by end of this week and go for either one of them.I know about Giac and Dinan which is not what im interested in for now.Vishnu or Jb3 is what i would like to go with at the moment and ofcourse im getting all the other upgrades as well like exhaust, catless, intercooler, coilovers and dual intake.I just want to do it right and do it right the first time hopefully. Thanks again to everyone for their posts.

I have Altec's chart saved up on my pc. OP, use the chart.
jb3: gives you raw power and the //M like kick. Procede: gives you stock multiplied by 100. just smooth as silk. |

You ever notice how the for sale section is flooded with JB3s and JB+s, but there are barely any PROcedes for sale...
It should kinda tell you something. |

JB3 all day. If you want raw power, race car feel, go with the jb3. When you slam the pedal the car pins close to redline instantly in 4th gear.
I'll stick with the race car feel |
