My 2011 N55 135i JB3 Review
Hello everyone, first time I'm posting here. I just got my 2011 135i (with the N55 motor) a little over a month ago and have given it a "hard" break-in with a 1200 mile oil change. I went with my brother (Down4it) to meet Terry and get on board with the JB3 beta program for the N55.
First off, there haven't been any problems or issues whatsoever with the JB3. No check engine warning lights or anything coming up no matter how hard the car is driven. Now for the goodies... The throttle response has improved dramatically from the OEM tune and the power comes on smooth like stock but with a lot more added power!! The increase in power through the RPM band is intense, with so much more low end torque the poor stock RFT tires have a really hard time with traction! The driving experience feels like a constant adrenaline rush now and I couldn't even consider driving the car without it! I've only had the JB3 now for a couple days so more to come when the car has been really tested through and through I wanted to say thanks to Terry and BMS for building such an amazing product for my car and giving me the opportunity to join the Beta testing program for the N55 JB3 tune!! Like everyone keeps saying, the consistency of the customer service provided by BMS just cannot be matched! This is the start of the mods to my 135i and there will be more to come!! I am looking forward to more advancements and performance mods from BMS for the new N55 platform! More info to come, stay tuned! |

Congrats on the tune Stark.
I'm sure that there are a lot of people here with an N55 that are interested in having a little bump in power.

are you going to dyno this week? I was going to go to MD Auto end of the week to dyno. there's another 135 DCT that prob'ly going do the same. If u like to come, give me a pm. Mike - have you guys sent in the N55 to the dealer yet, how did it go? or did i miss a thread where u answered that? did u guys figure out if it's safe to leave the piggyback outside the box? if it's to hot to be out there - or is this what's being R&D? sorry for so many questions.

Congrats! Let hope the N55 will have as good as results as the N54! Not sure if I'll ever get a N55 but hope all the best for it. I'm glad to see the tuners are able to work with both platforms and crank out great tunes!

Been tuned for awhile now installed at 1200 miles I now have 3k so far so good I do get an ocasional jumpy hesitating feeling while climbing up the rpm band. I switched gas brands and it hasnt happened since.
Besides that the car runs very strong! |
