Red face French GM GA6L45R Automatic Transmission Total ATF Capacity...Anyone?

Hi! I'm a newbie here. I researched the E90 and based upon the following URL, http://admin.webmakerx.net/images/Si.../autotrans.pdf, I thought the 328i (E90) had the ZF auto trans. After purchasing my 2007 Crimson Red 328i and crawling underneath to examine the trans pan (metal, not black plastic), I find it's the French GM GA6L45R. I ordered a filter (already have Red Line D6 ATF), but can NOT find the ATF total capacity for the GA6L45R. I plan to drain and measure the ATF from the pan, drop the pan and replace the filter, add a half quart more when refilling. Then disconnect the return ATF line and discharge HALF the amount in the pan into a pre-measured container while an assistant turns the car on and off. I do this (adding new ATF & discharging old) until the total capacity of the trans is replaced with new ATF. Done this procedure many, many times, but I HAVE to know the toal ATF capacity to get mostly new ATF into the trans. Anyone know? I would guess it's between eight and twelve quarts and I could stop adding new fluid when the discharged ATF looks like "new", but...I'd like to know for sure. Thanks in advance. Charlie
PS: I won't get into what a piece of garbage the GA6L45R is compared to the 6HP19Z or any ZF...or most any other auto trans...unless its another French GM auto trans (I had a 2000 323i with a, yep, French GM auto trans!!! Thanks again!

I asked the folks where I purchased my filter and their response follows:

Hey Charles,

This transmission takes about 11 liters (11.6 qts) total. Let me know if you have other questions.

Thanks
Andy

I will replace 12 quarts and I hope this information helps others with the GA6L45R trans!

Well for the record, the ZF 6HP has A LOT of leaking problems, *not the GM*.
