Just bought a 335i yesterday!

I came from an 02 M3 Coupe and she will be missed...

I have loved the 335i so far. I was very hesitant on switching from an ///M car, because I have owned a 98 and 02 M3, but I think this was a good alternative until I can afford the newer ///M. Its a 2007 CPO Montego Blue/Black, 6spd, with 34k miles on the clock. It has sport package, heated seats, BT, iDrive, premium sound, and a few others. I have pictures below taken with my iphone, but I just point and shot a couple.

One question I have is in regards to the shifting in the 335 compared to my ///M. I noticed if I am mashing the gas and then go to shift, it almost slows down before it speeds up when I shift. Like there is considerable lag when I hit the gas in the next gear. The RPMs drop pretty quick is what I noticed. I'm not sure if taking DCT off will help any with this. I know my ///M shifted way smoother when I took traction control off.

If you are questioning the lag between shifts, you should look into a piggy back tune which works well with Manual tranny and totally eliminates this...Vishnutuning which makes Procede

Well I paid a tad bid more than I wanted to, but I sacrificed that for the color, packages, and transmission. I couldn't find anything within 500 miles with the same color, trans, and options as this had. I paid a little over 32k for it, but I have no regrets, plus they have me $17k for my ///M. KBB for trade in was actually around 16.5k for it. Overall I am happy. Its a great car and I love the exhaust note on these things, very distinct. I was looking for something more practical, with around the same power as the ///M.

So does anyone know about the question I asked in my OP? I am just making sure its normal for it to lag like it does. Just seems a little odd.

Yeah, I talked the dealer down from listed price of 33,995 and he was only going to give me $16.5k for trade in. I said he needed to sharpen his pencil and gave him where I wanted to be. He met that and actually I pondered the decision for two weeks. In those two weeks the interest rates changed and came down and my payoff for the ///M went down by one payment (I only had a reasonably small amount remaining on loan). So I ended up paying way under what I wanted to pay originally. I think it worked out for the best.

I guess I'll have to get used to Turbo Lag...I don't want to mod under warranty, unless it doesn't void it.

Congrats on the purchase. I picked up an '07 yesterday and traded in my '06 M3. I've been very happy so far with the way it drives, compared to my M.

Congrats. Beautiful car.

Check in front of the right front wheel, inside the wheel well. You're looking for a radiator exit, confirming that your 2007 actually has the oil cooler it is supposed to have. (a couple thousand 2007s with sport packages were built without it)

If you have one, look into the Dinan Stage 2 software upgrade. Not as much boost or power as some of the others (only 384hp and 420 lbft of torque), but Dinan replaces your CPO warranty, leaving you whole. Best 2k I ever spent. A Canadian car show did a review......below.

Yeah maybe a software upgrade in the future could interest me. The first thing I want to get done is ipod integration. I don't have the 6FL or the dealer installed ipod integration. Will I be able to get my ipod and/or iphone to link up with iDrive? This would be awesome!!! I hear that its like $400. Right now I only have the aux jack in the center console (not with USB). I really want to be able to use my ipod because I really don't feel like burning MP3 Cds when I have a dedicated Nano for my car.

It's not really turbo lag as someone said but an earlier post hit it. The computer dials back boost when you shift. I think it's an effort to save the transmission and your rear tires...

Vishnu has a fix in their tune, not sure about JB. Congrats on the new girl, does she have a name yet?

Do you mean DTC, and not DCT (as in dual clutch transmission, which we all know you don't have!)? I don't think you're supposed to use DTC unless you're in snow or something according to the manual. To turn off DSC (the actual stability control), hold the DTC button until you see that familiar triangle with the revolving arrow on the dash.
