Age limit on BMW service loaner?
Do most BMW dealerships have an age limit on service loaners? I dropped my car off last Saturday at my local BMW dealership to get the wastegate rattle issue fixed. At the time my SA said they were out of BMW loaners so he put me in a Lincoln MKZ (I hate this car!) rental through enterprise. Well today he called me to give me an update and it looks like I might be getting my car back Tuesday and he also asked if I could stop by to return the rental and get a BMW loaner. So I had my Dad run the rental by since I'm out of town, but we he got up there he saw something about having to be 25 for a loaner and mentioned to the guy that I'm 23. So they said I'd have to keep the rental.
Has anyone else run into an age issue or seen any age limits on loaners at their dealership? I'm glad I still have a car to drive, but I'd definitely prefer a BMW loaner over a Lincoln. |

I'm 21 and they had no problem giving me a loaner. They didn't even check my age.

It is 25 in most parts of Canada....but hey, if they do not mind selling you a BMW, they should be able to give you a loaner. All depends on their insurance policy.

This is an interesting topic. I wonder if there's an upper age limit???

They gave me one when I was 20 but not without jumping through insurance hoops. No problems after the first time.

Depending on the insurance laws in your state - and the type of insurance held by the dealer - they may well restrict the lower age limit.
In general (just to satisfy anyone's curiosity) they cannot restrict the upper limit as everyone over 40 is protected under some sort of age discrimination law. There are, of course exceptions (unclewede should never be loaned a car ) |

If my SA wasn't a personal family friend, I probably wouldn't be given one. When I first went in and someone else helped me, I didn't
