Red face I did the math, 335is won

I decided to rate the following features of each car on how much it meant to me and let the dice fall where they will. The 335is won by a single point.

335i...........................Points 1-3
$4k less than 335is...................3
New N55 engine.......................2
Many interior trim options...........1
Has fog lights...........................1
Optional M Sport package..........2
............................................9

335is
Has more power.......................3
DCT.......................................3
Nicer M Sport rear bumper..........1
Better exhaust note..................2
Black chrome grills/exhaust.........1
............................................10

Seems like you wanted the 335is to win. You should have rated it on the same features. Any outcome will be skewed if the rating features are not the same

I guess that's one way to say you really want the 335is.

Your only valid point on the iS would be the DCT. Everything else is non-sense you can have added afterwards either through replacement or paint for less than $4k except the M-Sport Pckg, which the 335i can be ordered with.

As for the extra power, all it is is the BMW Performance Power Kit. Only thing missing is the overboost but the JB3 is much better than that.

You're also giving awkward points to the 335i. The trim can be easily swapped for the iS. The 335iS e93 has the fogs. And did you really give two points to the N55?

I agree. Its hard to give it points for having more power considering you are now "Proceded" and each car whether 335 or 335is will have the same hp with the procede. Correct me if i'm wrong about that.

But the IS is a cool car. No doubt about it.

You should have added "Has more torque".

...and your rating's on the DCT and better exhaust note are way too low.

I'm comparing stock to stock. Adding aftermarket stuff will make any car better. Also I don't see the performance kit offered on the new N55 yet. I'm sure it will be in the future but as you said it doesn't have overboost.

How can you swap trim in the iS? All BMW has on their site is the dark glacier aluminum. I'm not interested in the vert which is why I mentioned the no fogs. I gave 2 points to the N55, I guess it's wishful thinking that it will be more reliable than the N54.

LOL you were test driving all the cars I considered as well (well the 5.0 wasn't out when I was shopping)

I knew you weren't crazy. What color you gonna get? Is Perillo hooking you up?

I'm on the fence between SG and Black Sapphire. Still waiting to hear back form Perillo on their best offer. Hopefully I will hear from them tomorrow.

+1 on SG. I have Monaco Blue, and that's enough trouble already. I have to clean it after a 5-minute drive. I'd hate to imagine black.

seems like your point system was scientifically and precisely done. you won't regret getting an iS...
