and if you want to keep it simple, which also means less of a power boost and less customization, the JB+ is a cheaper alternative to those mentioned already

GIAC Stage 1 Flash.......IMHO, don't bother getting a Piggyback. Since you opened this thread referring to our available tunes as "Chips"...you're only going to expose yourself to a world of headaches if you're planning on dealing with and/or installing a piggy yourself (assuming you're not very knowledgeable in the tuning department or have any installation experience which requires a good deal of patience in this case) Most people don't pay to have piggybacks professionally installed (since there are good step-by-step instructions and tutorials available on how to do so all over the web), but just giving you a heads up...It can be tedious and a real pain in the ass to install a Piggy. Going with a flashtune like GIAC (which has almost equivalent power and performance to those of its competitor piggybacks) is not only a more convenient alternative (given that its uploaded directly through your OBDII port from a Laptop in less than an hour, without even having to open the hood or tamper with any important / vital ECU components), but is also among the smoothest performing tunes available on our cars and doesn't have a history of producing any issues such as Limp Modes or throwing Check Engine Light's (aka, additional headaches). Pricing is also very competitive for the best Flashtunes vs. piggybacks, so for people telling you to go Piggyback (which will be the majority) remember, for around the same price, I suggest you consider the circumstances of what you'll be getting into before hand when deciding between the two (aka: dealer visits, convenience, reliability, supporting mods., etc.) Do some research, there are hundreds of threads on here with information you're looking for.

Shouldn't this be an auto ban considering all the commotion this guy is about to create?

Yes. Its like when your GF asks if a dress makes her look fat. Immediate grounds for dumping.

I'm not bashing piggybacks to the point of being ban worthy for Christ sake, I'm just trying to help the guy out and being honest with him up front. You and I both know there are TONS of constant threads being posted under the Turbo section of people whining about CEL this and CEL that, I have a half engine light here and a Limp mode there...that's all I ever see..and what do the majority, if not All of those members run?...Piggybacks. I'm just saying, while Piggy's may be cheaper, provide a bit more power than Flashes (in Some instances), and are easy to install (for SOME people), it may not be what this guy wants to get into..given that a lot of these running issues with piggybacks have to deal with either not having proper supporting mods. (given the higher boost demand) or are usually caused by a slight error during installation which can lead to bigger problems and headaches when they don't have to be in the first place..you know? Obviously I have GIAC S1 (as you can tell) and I know that I primarily chose the flashtune BECAUSE of the convenience factor of the tune and in being on my daily driver of which i drive 25k miles a year, I wanted a tune thats Very reliable, smooth, and doesn't have a history of producing Limp modes or CEL's here and there that I don't personally have the time to deal with. You never see anyone complaining on here about major issues they've run into with flashtunes once they've been installed do you? I have the right to an opinion and if the guy wants an opinion on what to get, I'm gonna tell him what I feel. That's all. No intention of bashing a particular company or anything. The performance tune options are obviously all very popular and all have pro's and con's and no matter what I say, the 1000's of threads on this forum speak for themselves..I'm just trying to give the OP a head start.

Were you referring to My initial post or the OP's?! Because now that I look at it, it really could have been directed toward either of us. If it was regarding the OP's question, then disregard my response to you..lol. If it Was intended for me, then just accept the post the way I wanted it to be expressed based on my opinions. Thanks
