E91 maximum rear tire width question

Hi all,

just registered to get some help with my E91 335d Touring (wagon) -08.

I am planning to buy new wheels and tires but does anyone have any experience with fitting a 275/30-R19 rear tire on your E91? The reason for asking is that while 265 will not rub it does look a little stretched on a 9.5" wheel (at least Falken FK452 does, which my buddy's got fitted on his E91). Please state what offset you have also please.

From what I remember, E91 rear fenders are the same as E90 fenders. If you are currently running a 265 with some room on the FK's, you should be able to run a 275 without a problem.

I had tried my old Breytons on my friends E91 and fitments was exactly the same as my E90

they where 19X9.5 ET35 with General UHPs 275/35/19 he had room to spare compared to me (I was on ZSP suspension) and could have ran a 285 on this tire

Charles@vmrwheels: it so happens that I am currently looking at VMR V718 hyper silver wheels which I figure would contrast nicely with the sparkling graphite/shadow line color scheme of my car. Am I right that ET33 in the rear and ET35 is the "standard" E9x offset?

My buddy who's got the 265mm FK's fitted is using a 19x9.5 ET35 wheel in the rear and it is quite a tight fit. So if I use ETT33 it will be even tighter, but I notice that V718 is also available as ET45. Would that work on my E91 you think? I forgot to mention that it's got the standard M-sport package if that changes anything.

Oh, and also, am I correct in assuming that TPMS-sensors are only found on cars in USA?

jackb: that's interesting! was the tire completely worn so that's why it fit so easily?

Very thankful for the insight!

I think you should go with 275/30/19 if you wants wide tires and are planning to go with 19x9.5 ET33 in the rear.

Yes you are right. 19x8.5 +35 front and 19x9.5 +33 rear.

9.5 +33 would work perfectly fine and will be flush in the rear. Sport height will still be a direct bolt-on fitment and will not require any modifications to the car.

TPMS is only required for vehicles equipped with it in the U.S.

Here are some V718 photos for you.
