Thanks. The idea of spacers never settled with me quite right. It's better to get wheels with the proper offsets I think. Also, someone told me spacers in the front are dangerous because they're subject to more forces due to steering. I just decided to take the safe route and got myself some VMR VB3s with the offsets I wanted.

Yes, you can use spacers only in the rear, just make sure to get longer bolts.

It's better to get wheels with the proper widths and offsets than to use spacers. Spacers add an extra point of failure. If you must use spacers, I recommend the ones that bolt into your hub with their own bolts and then you can mount your wheels to the spacers with the stock bolts. As an engineer, extended bolts don't sit well with me in terms of safety.

Yeah that was me. I never win anything so it was a pleasant surprise. It cost me about $1600 for wheels + tires + TPMS. I usually hunt for the best deal so I didn't pay retail on the wheels, tires and TPMS. Mounting and balancing was another $100 or so... about $1700 for everything. Sold my OEM wheels and tires for around $1200 to offset the cost. |
