Shift beep?

Hi guys,

is it in any way possible to get an upshift beep/light on our cars? Is it possible to program such a thing through the DME? I wouldn't mind say the seat-belt chime or such...

Any other suggestions welcome!

Thanks.

I couldn't tell you if it is possible or not for sure, but seems like more work then it is worth. I had a shift light in an old POS, was one of the most annoying things i've ever had in a car. "NO I DON'T WANT TO SHIFT UP AT 2K"

The new Procede has this function. Might as well kill 2 birds with one stone

I had an upshift light on my first car - a volkswagen rabbit - that I had when I was 16. I had my father go with me to the dealer it was serviced at and have the mechanic unhook it. The mechanic was amused that a 16yo girl wanted the upshift light unhooked because it was asking to shift too soon.

New Audis have an indicator in the multifunction. So annoying. Pretty much goes like: "I see you're going more than 25mph; I suggest you use 6th gear."

Don't we have a little cut out for it near the tach if BMW wanted to put one in? I seem to recall if the sun hits the dash right there's a little circle where i could see a shift light if they wanted

Of course I don't want it to be at a low speed... I want it to be user adjustable, so you can set the rpms yourself depending on what tune you're running for optimum performance

My 350Z had a programmable shift light (factory) I thought it was so cool when I bought the car, Used it for a day and then it annoyed the $hit out of me, so I shut it off.
