Paint Repair/Other Questions

Good Afternoon All,

New member, so I thought I would say hello, had my new to me BMW for about 2 weeks now.

An E92 2006 BMW 335i Montego Blue with Black Interior and gray woodgrain. 35,000km on the clock.

Just a few quick questions (Posted this in regional but thought it would be good to get a wider oppinon):

The car has a few car door marks on the sides from people opening doors onto it etc., any recommendations for the best way to fix this? e.g. Panel Shop or Detailer, I don't really like to respray full panels.

My other questions is there anything I should be worried about and how do I find out if my car has had the Fuel pump, and other items fixed that I hear so much about?

Upgraded/Moved sidewards from a 2006 BMW Z4 3.0.

Look forward to contributing on the board in the near future.

Andrew

1. if you can stick your nail in the scratch your detailer likely can't help you beyond sanding it and prepping it for touch up paint.

2. ask you CA to pull the service record for your car.

1. Don't detailers do touch up work too?

I ask the questions you're afraid to ask.

Most dealers have a chip repair person on staff or under contract. Many of these can do a remarkable job - especially on vertical panels where minor imperfections aren't as readily visible.

aren't these usually 3rd party detailers who you would be better off going to directly?

Thats my thought as well, I will investigate detailers before I go to a panel shop.

Can I contact any BMW to get the service history?

Thanks for all your responses.
