Exclamation Back order tires :'(

Hi e90,

So i just got VMR 701 rims, really want to install them, i need tires though. So i got a set of Continental Extremecontact DWS (265/30ZR/19) for the rears, now i just need front tires. The problem is that every shop online and in Vancouver all have it on back stock! the size im looking for is 235/35zr/19, if you guys know any place i can get them please let me know...these tires are pretty much the best for Vancouver weather so my heart is set on these things. Also, since these tires are on back order, how long do you think it will take till they are in stock? Thanks for the help!

Gotta match tires. You don't want front and rear axles having different slip limits.

Funny in the old days we only had winter tires in the back and kept the summer tires in front ... guess we never raced on ice or snow

Yah i have already talked to tirerack, they are on back order...

now i have a serious question, some of you (most of you) will laugh at me for being a newb, but here is my question...

So i have been looking around online and it seems that the Continental Extremecontact DWS 235/35zr/19 91Y are on backstock EVERYWHERE; however, there are a couple of places that have the tires in 235/35R/19 91Y. Just because its missing the Z, is it the exact same tire? I thought the Z was the speed rating, but then the Y is the speed rating as well...can someone please help me out! Thank you!

Basically the same tire. Maybe slightly different compound. I'd be comfortable with running the y an z on separate axles. Curious to hear other opinions.

I take back what I said. Looks like both tire descriptions you present here are tires for both y rated tires. Maybe its just the way the retailer has them in their system. I bet they are the same tire.
