Lumbar Support Problem

I just purchased a 2007 328i (22k miles) last Saturday. The seat seemed very comfortable until I messed with the lumbar support option a couple days ago.

Now the seat is bothering my back and I cannot seem to get it to return to the original position that was so comfortable. I have tried controlling the lumbar support to all different positions. However it just doesn't retract into the seat enough. Basically I want zero lumbar support, but this thing just bulges out.

It feels like a fist in my lower back.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

It is killing my new car experience. I really want this to be something stupid that I am over looking.

[I looked through the forum as best I could and did not see this topic anywhere. If it exits already and you can point me there that would be great. Also, I had to swallow a lot of pride in order to bring myself to post a topic on 'lumbar support' of all things. I will really be broken when I have to call the dealer back over a seat issue.]

i have the same thing
anyway the lumbar support setup sucks compared to the Audi
i have lower back pain everytime when i get out of my car

Have you tried finding any solutions to this problem?

I tried the manual (not helpful) and I turned to the internet forums. It seems like this issue isn't completely isolated to me.

I have not spoken to any official service centers yet.

There was a SIB for a pinched hose that feeds air to the lumbar bag. The hose gets pinched by some metal around the seat blocking the air from coming out when you want to deflate the bag. This causes the lumbar support to stay inflated.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the term "SIB."

Is this something that is a DIY fix or is it best to bring it in for service.

If you have any links or suggestions on places to find a little more detail it would be appreciated.
