Haha honestly i have gone through one fuel pump and I can feel it failing. I want it to fail so I can get it replaced and not have to deal with the software update bullshit

I brought my car in Oct. 1st for standard maintenance and I also complained about the long cranks. They did some software updates on my car and for some reason the cold cranks have went away. This is just something I heard, don't quote me on it, but with the software update it will prime the fuel pump before starting the engine.

Tell them to pressure test the pump. I had no codes only long cranks. The dealer manually pressure tested the pump and said it was low and replaced my pump.

Well, you don't have to make it fail. Just schedule an appointment with the dealer and swap it out. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=447263

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger
