Wait List???

Just wondering, but does anyone know or have any assumptions as to how long the wait list will be for the new M3? I think I remember hearing that when the first E46 came out that the wait was over a year long from the purchase date.

Any thoughts???

Hmm, local celebrity eyy, who are you? Haha, jk.

I think that if you get on the waitlist now. Put the $500 deposit, and wait. There wouldn't be much of a wait. Maybe 3-6 months after initial realease in the US, untill you take delivery of yours.

Probably even better than that

There are still dealers in So. Cal with relatively small lists that will take a deposit now and will sell for MSRP. PM me and I'll tell you where my #5 spot is. #5 is not nearly close enough to #1 for me but also given the volume of most So. Cal. dealers it is good enough to get a car really soon after release.

I just put my deposit down yesterday at a dealer that does moderate volume in NJ. I'm #2, I was very surprised.

Give a call around and see, maybe there is somewhere that doesn't have much of a list in your area.

I'm #2 at Open Road. If you say the same thing, we can head down there together and get this "straightened out".

Ha. I wasn't calling out Monsta. I was proposing we join forces to "explain" the dealer's mistake to them.

And by explain, I mean beat the crap out of them.

Prestige BMW in Ramsey....we're good to go....

Bill

p.s. I know nothing is out yet (officially) but I'm already mind boggled by what color I'm going to get w/ what interior...(just thinking if colors are exactly like e46 which they probably won't be)

I wish we had individual here...

It's so ridiculous that BMW doesn't offer BMW Individual in the US... They could net so much from it... But then again, I think it was around 90% of US BMWs are sold straight from the showroom, as opposed to Europe where over 80% of the cars are ordered by the customer custom from the factory, so I guess there wouldn't be that much business for BMW Individual in the US. (Neiman Marcus BMW Individual M6 Cabrio's sure sold out fast though - and in such an ugly color too!)

Best regards,

Jussi

Generally it is choosing custom colors and materials, but in the past they have also accommodated more demanding changes, such as engines that weren't available on the model by default, but I think those custom days are pretty much history now and you'll need to go to someone like Hartge if you want some HC custom stuff under the bonnet.

Best regards,

Jussi

Great. And Neiman Marcus already sold a batch of Individual M6 Cabrios, though they were already customized by them and you couldn't affect the options.

BTW, the BMW Individual wheels (Type 152) look pretty ugly to me... I don't know why. All individual BMW's, regardless of model, ship with this style of wheels unless you order otherwise:

I think it was about $75.000 of sales per second ;-) And the individual look the had chosen was pretty f* ugly too.

Just what I was saying. They look ugly. And they ship with every "BMW Individual" by default, unless you order some other wheel type.

BMW should definitely update the Individual wheel look (dump type 152)

Jussi

1) Ugly looking rims

2)Agreed that the idiots who shelled out the cash on that M6 we're nuts. I think that they just wanted M6 Cabrios in general, and heard about this and said F*ck it! Status buyers im sure..."Oh I gotta have a BMW, a...a..an M6..oh wait!, they have a Neiman Marcus...well whoever that is..I'll BUY IT!!"

Hahah that was fun for me, I hope I didn't offend any NM M6 Cabrio buyers.

-Pete.

Agreed,

They should be shipped with M6 shells with N52B30's under the bonnet and maybe 1 of the buyers could tell the difference.

Best regards,

Jussi
