nooby question about scoops

would scoops be bad when it rains? wouldn't it give water towards the engine ?

Don't really think small amounts such as rain will do any effect at all unless its like a bucket full going into your engine.... And plus I don't think there is enough air pressure to make water jump from one thing to another and end up into the engine. Scoops such as cyba's also has a hole on the upper part which may direct water else where...

The stock intake already has downward sections to prevent water intrusion. But I read the scoops really do nothing to add power.

ehh, there are gains to be had but you probably wouldn't notice. i've seen dyno gains but it was only at peak you saw few extra ponies.

I don't see how you could see any gains on a dyno from just adding scoops, you would need some massive fans, because the only time those scoops are really doing anything are around 80mph+...
