Breyton GTS 18 X 7.5 W/ Continental DWS Installed

Just wanted to give a quick review of the Breyton GTS rims 18 X 7.5 with Continental DWS. I am not very savy when it comes to rims, this is my first set of aftermarket rims. I wasn't very keen on the oem style 161 17s so I decided to go rim shopping.

I have an xi and wanted to cut down on wheel weight without breaking the bank. I figured since I never had a problem hooking up since I have awd, there is no reason for me to look for a 9 inch wide rim and just make the tires extra heavy. In addition, some of the roads I drive on are in poor condition so I decided to stay away from 19s.

I went with a 225/40/18 tire so I have better stability in the rain with the narrower tire. I know this isn't a popular look with the narrow tire but I felt besides looks the practicality was worth the trade-off.

After driving the car for about 50 miles there are a few things I can notice. The car definitely feels more spry and the acceleration seems like Im driving a more lively smaller car vs with the 161s and runflats. The steering feels a little squirmy but that is probably because the tires are new and have full tread. Road noise and harshness are not a factor, I would say its as close to the feel of my 161s with the SSR runflats.

Ha, I know this review sucks but Im itching to get outside and do some more driving to see how these bad boys hold up.

I'm getting some coilovers soon but wanted to address the wheels first since I had a slightly out of round tire and wanted to get that taken care of ASAP. I'll be looking at the ast coils I've heard good reviews about them. And with the kw price increase I don't want to give them my business
