M6 VS M3 (chopped) Rear

Just thought I'd put the two up for comparison. I moved the emblem also ...

I think the M3 needs some work if it's going to look like that. I like the 6 but hate that 3.

If BMW does go this route I think the BMW emblem on the back will need to go lower. The M6 "BMW" emblem is used to open the trunk and if it does that on the M3 it seems like it will need to go a bit lower in order not to be on the curved part of the trunk.

You can not compare these shops, because the angle isn`t wright; on th M6 the angle is much higher dan the M3, so there is much more to see from the car, including reer window and roof, now on the M3 this is completly different, where are the ouside mirrors for example?

It looks nice, but you can`t draw any conclusion from it IMHO .....................

They used a different lens for the M3, but you get the general idea.

Prefer the shape of the lights on the 6 from this angle and the exhaust pipes are integrated better.

Totally different angle, agreed, but I think you can still draw many valid conclusions. We are just comparing basic rear layout/design not thinking about windows, roof, mirrors, etc.

if they are going for "license plate on bumper," the trunk needs to be smaller like M6.

The M3 in the photo reminds me of the sleek and fast Pontiac Aztek. Not an M, but truly a marvel of modern auto design.

Your spots

To the last two posters : Come on, get real, you know you are not going to scrap your spots until you see some real production or close to production pictures.

However, if you are serious, make sure you find a desperate fellow board members to donate your wait list spots to!

Of course I'd have to see the production first. I'm not making any decisions based off of chops. I'm starting to really dig what the front might look like though. LOL ... if that makes any sense.
