N55 e92 dyno results!

So i got my new car dynoed at the Florida Bimmer meet in Pembroke Pines, FL today. I am not sure how the heat or the fact that it was a mobile dyno could affect my readings if at all. Maybe you guys would like to chime in about that.

My peak run yielded 275.85 hp and 289.72 tq. From what I understand, these are pretty good numbers for a completely bone stock car. If I adjust the readings for a 12% drivetrain loss my numbers could be 308 hp and 324 tq!

Maybe this will put to rest some of the negative perceptions about this new N55 motor. What do you guys think my results would be if I added the HP Autowerks air filter and the OEM BMW perofrmance exhaust?

Very nice. I have the HPA filter in right now and I wish I could've made it down there today! The N55 doesn't seem to be as disappointing as some people make it out to be. I ordered my N55 Vishnu tune last week and I can't wait for it to arrive so we can see some serious numbers! Thanks for posting this up man

Do you notice a difference with the HPA filter? Does your butt dyno feel more power> Would you recommend it ?

Now that the temps have cooled down Jason, I can definitely feel a difference in the butt dyno. I also did the golf tee mod and that made the car feel even faster for some strange reason. I would recommend the HPA filter for sure. Another member on here (FrankiE90 I think) dynoed 317 ft lbs to the wheels on his E90 N55 with just that filter! As soon as AR drops their dp for our cars, the beast will come out for sure.

Search for FrankiE90's thread and dyno results for the N55 HP Autowerkes filter

I was at the meet with my 335i N55 but I didn't dyno because I believed it was way too hot. As it turns out the dyno was very accurate, I dyno'd my car when I first got it on a dynojet as well with STD smoothing set on 2 in 91 degree weather. My results were 270 WHP dead on. Torque numbers were unavailable for me as I couldn't get the meter hooked up in the engine because the shop was just too lazy and there was a long line. BTW, I had the 6AT tranny set to manual mode and I did my strong pull in third gear. This was probably a mistake on my part as 4th seems to do better in our cars but good numbers nevertheless.

You must have a sweet view of the bay!

How is your car running on the JB3? I have some reservations about it throwing codes/ giving me problems in general. I just dont want my warranty voided. Do you think I would have problems if I just had a Jb3 and no other supporting mods?
