help. SES light is on, wont go off, and no new codes...

So I'm at the end of the rope with my E93. BMW of sterling had the car for over a month (waiting on parts). Went in to fix an exhaust rattle, and to help with the stuttering and limp mode - always for a misfire on cyl 3. I just got the car back with a new HPFP, fuel pressure sensor, and upgraded software. Car seemed strong, but on map 5 it started to go into limp mode every time I floored it.

No new codes.. same misfire on cyl 3. I did get a 2FCA and a 2FDA but seems like they are normal with the new software with what I have read. I dont get the half engine light, it's not in limp mode, and no additional codes - why would the SES light STAY on even after I restart the car and should I be worried?

Does the new software have means of detecting a tune?

Hopefully I'll get new coils, plugs, or injectors for cyl 3 this time around.

Remove all mods and keep taking it back to the dealer until they fix it. There is no reason you should need to troubleshoot it yourself.

They gave me a 2009 e90 335i - looks like an LCI. Would you throw the JB3 on the thing for the weekend just to see if it throws the loaner into limp mode? Part of me is wondering if there is something wrong with the actual tune because i cannot, in any way, get the car to replicate the problems when it is on map 0 or the tune is out... drives fine...

If it's just a misfire code it's not likely to be wiring or hardware related. If you have lots of other codes could be some hardware problem though. If you get a misfire tuned but zero codes stock some component on the car is likely on the edge of failure and not able to accommodate the extra power the tuning provides.
