Mystery 1/2 engine lights (yellow) with Procede
Need some ideas on what is causing this. I'm getting yellow half engine lights at random times.
How I understood that light is that engine power is reduced. In my case, they come on only while under vacuum, engine power is not reduced at all, I can immedialey get 16PSI if I want it, then the light disappears after about 1 minute. I look for engine module codes via the procede software and there are none. I'm wondering if it has something to do with CanClear and old progman software? I' running the original software from 4/2007. I have AR catted DP's with the magnaflow hi-flow cats, and the o2 modifier is set to 100%. When I went to emissions (ODBII port check) I was able to pass without any simulator last december. The car never hiccups, no misfires, no idle issues, no problems hitting boost. What should I be considering to get these lights to go away? Anyone else run into this? |

The codes are probably catalyst ineffiency codes. With the old dme software, a cel/limp is triggered as soon as the cat codes go pending. Then seconds later, the Procede reads then and clears it as intended. This can happen with with aftermarket cats as they get older and don't do thier job as well as they used to.
The suggested solution is to update your dme software. A halfway modern version will not trigger a cel/limp until well after the code is pending. This gives the Procede plenty of time to catch it while it is invisible and clear it before it goes visible. The other solution is to dial in the o2 simulator but that is annoying and if you can get away without fooling the rear o2 sensors, the better. Of course, you can confirm that you are gettin the cat codes (10740 and 10741) by turning off canclear temporarily. Shiv |

Thanks Shiv. Sounds about right to me and it's good to hear it's probably not a major hardware issue with the car.
