Water to Air Intercooler

Has anyone thought about doing this? It's much better than an upgraded intercooler.

Air Water was the only way to effectively intercool your car if you had an MR2 and didn't want to cut the hell outta your trunk. =)

For drag racing, it is great. But air/air is better on the road which is why no one has.

What makes you think this?

Air to air is superior for most street-driven applications. OEMs will typically use AWIC when packaging is a constraint, such as in the ZR-1 Corvette. On a drag strip AWIC can also be of great benefit when the time the the liquid is exposed to heat is minimal and the liquid can be cooled far below ambient air temperature. In general AWIC is more complexity and weight than it is worth.

To add to this, If you track your car an air-air is the way to go. Yes the air-water will initially lower intake temps but as you get further into the session the water starts to heat up and become less effective. Eventially it gets to the point where it is counter productive and takes much longer to cool down then an air-air.
