DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER AS I HAVE BEEN A VICTIM OF FRAUD. I PURCHASED A SCAN TOOL FROM HIM THAT HAD ONE VIN LEFT. WHEN I RECIVED IT THERE WERE NO VINS LEFT. Also a quick note, people need to stop sending money over Paypal via Gift to save a few bucks. The added protection is worth it!

how can we get him banned from the forum to avoid any others from being had? is there anyone we can contact? i think he obviouly knows what he is doing as he had me pay from paypal and mark as a gift and if that is how it is paid by paypal you (i) have no recorse or dispute to file.

Contact BT office I have seen a post somewhere here that they will clear the used vins out and restore it back having 3 vins available its a one time deal.
Its worth a call.

I actually paid for the BT Tool before you, but was refunded the money since it wasn't gifted and cause I threatened to file a dispute which will freeze his paypal. Like chiaobaby said, call BT office and see what it costs to unlock the tool.

FYI since you gifted the money you have no info. His name is Matthew Lau and lives in NY. Use your Vegas buddies for the rest? good luck.

On the bright side, you now have a paperweight instead of him not bothering sending you anything. If you paid with a CC through PayPal, DISPUTE through CC company. If he's within the US, contact the police to see if they can do anything about it.

i called bt this morning and they said i have the basic version which would only be good for 1 vin and could not be reset, had it been the enthusist with 3 vins it could have been reset! fyi bt if you call them directly they have 3 vin refurb units for 217!!! and no headaches.

How wrong you are. PayPal doesn't give two shits and will not back you up unless it's an eBay transaction. I'm amazed at how many uninformed people there are out there.

The moment you try to escalate a claim, it gets auto closed with a big FU from PayPal.
