Mod advice for 335i
My Final decision has come to
Intake: AFE Exhaust: Akrapovic Evolution Suspension: KW1 DP: AR Design Intercooler: AA ECU:stick with Dinan. At this point,I'm not considering tracking the car so, It's a daily car,I want it to be stable while I can still have some fun driving it. AND I have some Final Questions...(Thanks for the patience) Does any one know how many psi does Dinan stage 2 generate? Do I need a Intercooler at this point, since the stock intercooler is enough for flash tuning. Plz correct me if I'm wrong thanks Last edited by AJ335; 10-31-2010 at 09:53 PM.. |

Jb3 isn't a logical tune choice. Especially if you arent limited by a tight budget. For $8000, you can pretty much put together a ridiculously well modified car. Set aside half of that for a full m3 suspension (arms, bushings, shocks, springs, etc). And the other half on engine mods. Of course, I'd recommend Procede v4. But definitely do your research on the tune choice. There are several active threads on this forum that will give you all the info you need to make an informed decision.
As for suspension mods, I'd take a factory m3 suspension over a Mickey Mouse aftermarket coilover setup any day. |

I have stage 2, and its awesome I say stick with it. I went with stett performance intake, and I recommend it to you for sure. Get the KW1 suspension for sure. I heard a AA and it sounds sexy, so go that route.

So how are you going to use the car or at least how do you see yourself using it. This will have a big impact on what is priority, useless and must-have, not to mention cost.

Thanks a lot guys for your great advice,my final diecision come down to the Injen air Intake and AFE stage 2,some say Injen will have water leakage problem, some say AFE is closer to the engine so the tempurture'll be high that causes lower performance..Um.right now i'm not thinking abt tarcking it in the future.
So wut do you guys think AFE?or Injen? |

get a JB+ (tuned specifically for the Dinan stage 2 flash) and save your money to see how HPF progresses with the single turbo upgrade, should start hearing updates next summer...

Intake - Just get a dual cone intake if it's for performance and not looks
Exhaust - AE exhaust or HKS or Vangaurd Suspension - If it's for performance and not looks, and you are not a track junkie, get the BMW performance suspension including the springs (from getbmwparts.com). Other - Grab a Quaife LSD from Harold at HPAutowerks - This is one of the best mods for traction (plus fun and saftey) if you have any tune. Tune - If you have money left over and want to try one of the two non-flash tunes, pick one and add in a meth kit with it with integrated failsafes. If you go the JB3 route, I would wait for the launch of the PRO board rather than do it twice. I have nothing but great things to say about the current PROcede though, it's a mature product and performing very well. |

As far is intake goes, AFE vs Injen, your intake is going directly to a 600+ Turbo, a couple degrees in air temp is not going to make a difference. Plus going from one side all the way over, across our hot radiator, to the Turbo's. How big the filter is and how much airflow is going to be what you want to look at, as far as performance goes. I think the Injen is more pretty, AFE is more Practical. Unless you are going to SHOW the car, I would save the money and Just get the Standard $120 DCI from BMS or VISHNU. I must say though I had a DCI from BMS and I switched to RPI scoops and BMC drop in (I have a BMC Drop in on my honda CBR 929 and its the shit) and I like this set up better. Feelsl ike throttle response is at speed, and I was really impressed when i was doing some 0 to 130 pulls, and the whole engine bay was hot, and I put my hand on the intake box and it was cool to the touch. AFE provides scoops with some of their kits too.
