Hi
Getting silver 335i Msport on the same day! - Did you go through Inchcape to get the Cooper discount (11%)? - The quote they gave me I got my local dealer to (almost) match.

I went for BMW privacy glass as it looks good and seems cheaper than aftermarket tints? - anyone any thoughts

Your spec is superb. I just couldn't stretch to adaptive headlights/Sunroof and Sat Nav myself despite benefits of Sat Nav when it comes to selling on.

Be interesting to compare notes with the cars - be especially interested in 335i re-mapping. I am not aware of anyone who does this yet in UK?

Cheers

not sure about inchcape. (whats that?)

the rrp price of my car was just over 40k, i haggled and haggled and eventually got it for a wisker over 34k !

i didn't spec the car myself, i actually went to the dealership to drive (and buy) a 325i, but found out that the 335i worked out only about £50 extra a month....

i wanted originally, saphire black with lemon interior, but i was told that a factory order would take around 3-4 monthes! being impatient i bought the 335i they had sitting in the showroom, it is after all a brand new car still (only covered 15miles when i drove it and still had the rev limiter on)

the spec is more or less exactly what i wanted except split / fold rear seats for prams etc.... i wouldn't have paid for the adaptive headlights either, but their on the car so we'll see how they work.

only thing i wish it had was bluetooth prep. (oh its got heated seats aswell)

5pm tomorrow, cant wait!

what time are you getting yours?
whats your spec?

Inchcape is, I believe, part of the same group that owns Coopers - the website name is broadspeed .com. You choose a car, spec it etc and they e-mail you a best price.

You beat that easily by going for a showroom car - thats a great deal - £6k off the list price!

Mine is a factory order - just been to pick it up this afternoon - (paperwork came back a day early)

Will post pics tomorrow if weathers good

Have fun later today. Sounds like a great car.

Inchcape are massive corporation that have interests in motor retailers and shipping amongst other things. They own a number of sites (used to be 80 ish) up and down the country. I used to work for inchcape and now work for a software company that supplies their internal systems.

Leave work ...go now.... !

unfortunatly owning my own company means i have to get the work done or we dont get the money....

ill give BMW a call around 1ish and see if its ready,

funny thing is i havn't driven the car properly yet.... when i went out on a test drive the car was still in 'shipping mode' this meant...

no sat nav
no radio
and more importantly... limited to 4000rpm!!! i cant wait to feel what its like past that, as it was really picking up pace before it hit the limiter.

apparently they limit the cars when shipping them to stop them being thrashed around by the guys at the docks....

Didnt know that about the shipping restrictions...

Certainly when i used to work for a dealer, the first delivery of a new model would see it getting thrashed around the local area by whoever got the keys first !

really.....

from an owners point of view, thats terrible!
on the other hand, i bet it was great fun!

i imagine that theres lots of going ons at dealers and factorys etc that would drive us mad if it was done to our car, but i try not to think about it, at the end of the day theres a warentee if anything does go bang.

out of curiosity does anyone know if LIND of Maidstone are a dealership within the Inchcape Group?

Make sure the DAB is set for UK when you pick it up...just find a few UK local stations

Mine was the first DAB radio the dealer had seen and it was still in Germanic mode !

ive had nothing but bad experiences from lind in maidstone, im after complaining to the franchise that owns them but cant find out who they are....

in a nut shell, they wanted me to put £1000 NON refundable deposit down on the car before they would take me out on a test drive or even tell me how much the monthly repayment were.... i ended up walking out, and taking my money elsewhere!
