Does Discount Tires price match Tire Rack?

Tried Googling and searching here but I dont see any answers that are not from a while ago. I want to pick up a set of Exclaim UHP which is 580 at tire rack but around 700 at discount tires. Will discount tires price match? I dont know if we have any discount tire members in this forum. I am located in Dallas.

Thanks

Check differences in shipping. That is sometimes the difference in price from comparable sites. One might offer free shipping perhaps, but tires cost a bit more VS the other site has cheaper tires, but charges shipping.

As point of reference I'm in Chicago. I spec a set of staggered Michelin Pilot Sport Plus A/S for a 2011 E92 335xi, M-Sport on Tire-Rack and took the price to Discount Tires. They not only matched Tire-Rack's cost [for the tires] they offered me a deal for installation.

In my experience most places will match tirerack's price, but then they charge upwards of $25 each wheel for mounting, balancing, disposal...

I did call and they matched the Excalim UHP at 580 + shipping. But the total comes to 914 inclu mounting/balancing/tpms conversion/tax and road hazard...seems a bit steep but I guess not too bad..

lol no....retail can never match online sellers.

Online sellers have more inventory, sometimes that they don't even pay for until AFTER they sell the item. They don't have to keep store fronts. Inventory is also usually bought in bulk because online retailers get more orders than a local store.

Retailers have to sell close to MSRP set by the manufacturer. Any sales, discounts, packages etc are controlled by manufacturers, not retailers like discount auto.

Discount tire matched the tire rack price that I found. They did add in the cost of shipping though. I've been mostly happy with discount tire. They've done some boneheaded stuff on my dads car (mounted a couple tires backwards) but they were happy to fix the problem as soon as it was discovered.

This is true. TireRack also charges shipping PLUS sales tax to my state, so it's not nearly as good a deal as it used to be. Their tire selection is still much better than my local tire shops though.

Many stores will price match if you ask too. The worst they can say is "no", and you're no worse off anyway.

yea...tax and shipping from tirerack kills it for me too...I just bought some hankooks v12's and compared prices from t tirerack and discount tire, and I saved almost $100 going with discount tire...
