Winter prep help!!!!
Hi guys,
I am new to the area. I picked up an 06 Armada for the winter, but I don't know the first thing about preparing a car for the winter. Can you give me any suggestions as well as products I should use and how I should go about doing this? Thanks, Michael |

They're a regular wiper blade, but the whole thing is covered in rubber so no snow/ice builds up in all the parts that pivot. A newer option are wipers like the OE BMW ones (nothing to ice up there), I have yet to use them in the winter, so can't vouch for them.

Hey guys I thought that I would hijack this thread for my own personal use lol. So, are you guys running winter tires at all? Or are most of you Xi's?

I have Continental ExtremeWinterContacts on my 5-series....though haven't gotten a chance to try them out yet since no snow.
Had the Dunlop Wintersport M3s before, loved those tires for the snow...and I used them year round. |

Do you guys really notice a traction difference? Honestly I am somewhat of a skeptic. But I do think that I am going to have to do something with that M. Although I am not driving far in winter condition's. Only about 10 miles straight down Arapahoe.

A difference between what? Your summer tires and snow tires? Huge difference, go drive on packed snow with those summers and we'll be seeing your shiney new car in the body shop. Thought you had a second car for the crappy days?

I have snow tires on a separate set of wheels, plus xi, can't wait for more snow.
Dedicated snow tires are really amazing in the snow, once you drive on a set, you'll always want them vs white knuckling it on all season or summer tires when it snows. I've had a dedicated set of snow tires/wheels for all my cars since I've lived in CO, even a 4WD pickup. |
