if you have no mods, it does give about a 10 hp increase. Even if you add an intake it gets an increase(about 12-15 total). however, once you get intake and exhaust, the powerbox is useless as it is just wasting fuel. At that point, you need a true ECU tune, ex gitani or AA

^ Really? i thought the addition of an intake and exhaust would bring out even more power? id love an intake but its too expensive, wayy to expensive, id rather save a little more and get a PE

let me find a thread, but a user did a car build and dyno. He did intake and dyno, then exhaust and dyno, then tried the intake, exhaust, and powerbox and dyno, and the dyno showed no gains. It just showed unnecessary fuel dump, this wasting gas.

edit: here we go

here is the thread:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=321802

and here is the quote AFTER he did intake and exhaust

"From what it looks likes the power box did jack shit except burn more fuel. I can see (by using the scan tool) they advanced the ignition timing by a few degrees and dumped a more fuel. However as power goes the dyno proved that there are no gains to be had even with all my supporting modification."

You can get an intake for $250-$300. Don't go with BMW, go with Injen or aFe. Worth it!
