Opinions? Diamond Black or Silver BBS RGR with Montego Blue?

I decided on the very distinctive diamond black BBS RG-R for my 2008 Montego blue 335xi E90 but now I am having second thoughts. Do you think diamond black would look better or silver? Does anyone else have diamond black with Montego blue?

i personally feel that on blue, silver always looks better. On colors that tend to wash out like TiAg or White, i personally prefer darker colored wheels.

My E46 M3 was Mystic Blue Metallic w/ silver BMW CSLs, and i personally thought it looked super clean. Darker wheels just wouldn't pop on a blue car.

I think diamond black would look better with your car. They won't show brake dust as bad as silver either. The only thing I don't know is if diamond black would clash with your chrome trim. Either way, you can't go wrong; best wheel for the e9x imho.
Are you getting 18", staggered?
PLEASE post up some pics when you mount these wheels..

Yes, brake dust was one reason for diamond black but mostly I just liked that they stood out more. I have already gone to a matt black front grill and will likely black out the finishing rods (grill splitters) in either case. I might be tempted to black out the window trim too but that is a much bigger adventure.

I planned on going 18x8.5" square with 255/35-18 but BBS can't find 4 DBK wheels - only 3. Uncertain when/if they can get the fourth. So I either switch to silver or go staggared. Staggarded has some appeal. If so I would likely do:

18x8.5 ET38 with 245/40-18 Front (25.7" diameter)
18x9.5 ET33 with 275/35-18 Rear (25.6" diameter)

It is an xi so I have to keep front/rear diameters close.

BBS's website shows these wheels to be on sale. Check the vendors section of this forum.
You've got staggered wheels now, so a staggered setup should be fine; don't know about xi.
If you go 8.5 f, 9.5 r, I'd select 235/40 f, 265/35 r so you don't have any issues with rubbing.

I like the diamond black because it tends to conceal the break dust a bit. Those are some of my favorite wheels!

i'd like to see some posts of this color wheel on a blue car.

I can't believe i'm getting out voted this badly! ha ha

I've been a huge fan of dark wheels for years now (I'm running dark grey metallic powder coated MORRs on my 335i, and i have 20" black XDs on my lifted GMC - but on blue, i just think silver contrasts better. IMO i think wheels should contrast strongly from the color of the car. Dark on light, or light on dark.

To each his own.

Partly depends on trim/grilles. If you have black M-sport then Diamond Black better.

Silver! I think blue black is very common! Silver looks great with the right offset and fitment.

I have matte anthracite VMRs on my montego blue coupe and I think the color combo looks awesome together.

And I'm gonna disagree with the light car with dark wheels and dark car with light wheels. Because for example Seal Grey looks better with black wheels than plain silver wheels. And white cars look cleaner with silver wheels than black wheels.

Also when it comes to silver rims if your not careful it may end up looking stock. Unless of course that's what you're going after.

With that said I'd go with the diamond black. It'll be more contrast. And contrast is always good.
