N55 Procede Install Help

I had almost completed the install for the N55 procede until I got to the Crank Position sensor. Everything up until that part is a breeze, then when I get to it, I can touch, feel it, but there is no way that there is room in there to grab the connector and pop it off.

Anyone that has installed it, how did you get your hand to fit and pop the connector off? I could not do it, no matter how I positioned my hand.

Thanks a lot!

The plug from the PROcede is the same as the stock one so take a good look at it so you can see how it comes off. There's a metal bracket that you have to bend out of the way alittle, is the one that supports a wire harness.
Also , if you remove the air box is alot easier.
If you need more help , pm me your # and I'll see if I can come down to you and I can do it.

If you want to try again this weekend, we can give it another shot.

Has anyone tried to access it from below or from the wheel well?

I can bring my floorjack to lift up the front and go in from there.

where in florida are you?

I had to bend the plate substantially to make more room. I also had to use a lot of pressure to get the plug off. If you can touch it you are probably not using enough pressure, try wearing gloves for added grip and lessen the pain in the fingers

I think I talked to the OP this morning over the phone. One bit of the instructions needed to be a bit more clear.

oh, and no jack or lift necessary. You just need to know how to reach in there and unplug the sensor. If you don't follow the directions word for word, the angle will be off and you can't unplug the sensor

Adrian where in FL are you located? I became familiar with the PROcede connector to figure out how to remove the OEM one. I did my install WITHOUT removing the airbox. It's a PITA I know, but it wasn't impossible. If you can fit both hands in there, it'll be so much easier (I did and my hands are huge). The detailed instructions Shiv has on his site are VERY helpful. If you're close, I can probably meet up with you to complete the install.

Thanks guys, I haven't tried to reinstall it yet (been busy with work). Shiv gave me a tip which I will try out, if this does not work, then I don't mind making a little trip for help. I see most of you guys are in Miami which isn't too far from me, Iceberg says 90 miles, which I can easily make in one hour. If by Saturday I don't have this figured out, I will contact one of you guys for a little visit...

Thanks again!

It is. You just have to know exactly how to reach for the crank sensor connector. Once you do, it takes about 4 seconds to unplug. The rest is like a n54 install (open dme box).
