N55 Procede V4 Review

I bought a Procede for my N55 from a fellow e90post member and got it today! So the install was a breeze until I got to the crank sensor part. It took 45 minutes just to get it undone. I followed all the instructions (Bending aluminum down and etc.) and my hand just wouldn't fit (My hand is not big) The hose that blocks the way didn't make it any better either. My hands are all scratched up from trying to force my hand down there. So I ended up using 2 hands to get it undone. I used one hand to pull and the other to hold the release down. If you try the two hand method you have to use your left hand to go in as instructed then use right hand to go in behind the strut bar and then down.

After everything was hooked up the CANbus didn't work . So I called shiv and he took care of everything and was a great help. They have great customer support!

I went for the autotune drive and a few miles later I could feel the power! The car pulled like crazy! It actually gave me the goosebumps . The power delivery was smooth. There was very very minimal turbo lag. The controls are very easy and simple.

I am extremely happy with the procede. My friend has the N55 fully stock like mine but with a JB3, after he rode in my car tonight his jaw dropped! (Yes I know the JB3 is stage 1) He was with the procede after I let him drive.

The only complaint is the serial adapter, that you have to buy from radio shack/best buy, can't you guys just make it a USB?

Overall: Procede

I hope this helps! I will try to post some videos of pulls.

Yeah that crank sensor is a real pain! I just installed mine - N55 as well - and that was the only thing that wasn't a breeze. Well... maybe the MAP sensor since it's underneath a cover. I dropped the small screwdriver I used to pry the tab and needed to remove some under carriage covers to get it back

Anyway, there is just no way to get that crank sensor undone the way Shiv has it in the instructions. You need to find your own way, apparently. I was able to use one hand, but in a way other than what is suggested.

Thanks Iceberg!

@ yitbos1 LOL I was holding onto the screwdriver for dear life ha. The Map sensor took a little to find also.

Also does anyone know where I can find the procede reader software? Or do I just plug the Procede into my laptop and download that reader software from the procede?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Altec! I already have that installed on my laptop. So i'm guessing the procede software is in there.

Haven't had a chance to put up a thorough review yet (I will sometime when I have video), but the car with the N55 Procede is crazy. Midrange power is explosive and launching the car spins the tires wildly while pushing your head back into the seats

Start from ecu canbus wires, work your way around, let the harness guide you, all connectors are a breeze until you get to the last one,the crank position sensor is tricky but doable. Last, connect power, ground it and fire her up. Let autotuning do its thing!

+1

Its actually very easy and there's no way you can screw it up since all the connections are in order starting with shortest wire to the longest on the harness. I had a bit of a problem with the Manifold Pressure Sensor and the Crank Position Sensor. Locating them wasn't difficult but even after you find it, its very difficult to release the tabs, pull it out and replace with the Proceed connectors due to the tight spaces, obstructions and awkward angles.

The connections are a breeze, same as the one's on the jb3. I couldn't for the life of me take that damn tape off for the canbus. So I just ripped it. I'll buy some stuff to re wrap it 2morrow.

Right now I'm on the crank sensor. I'll try the two handed method....
