Is everyone springing for floor mats?

I think it is funny to pay this much for a BMW and it doesn't even come with freakin floor mats!

Many dealers throw them in free of charge. I actually got my document fee waived in place of floor mats because the European Delivery program now provides them.

Ever since I got the thick rubber OEM mats (not too pricey...$47 for front set) I will never go back to carpet mats again. They are great for rainy days. I get in and out of the car a lot and these mats hold a ton of water whilst keeping the carpet floors 100% clean and dry. They clean up fast too...I just hose them down and towel dry....about every 2nd or 3rd car wash.

Yeah I could have asked for those instead, but I plan on keeping the car in the garage during lousy weather. Next year I'll probably get those, when I get rid of my E46 Coupe.

Seriously, MAKE them give you the floor mats free of charge... This is an issue that I cannot stand. You would think BMW could do you the courtesy of including floor mats on a $40k car.

At least they could just add them and raise the MSRP by $125 so no one was wiser.

I ordered on Thursday and made my dealer include them. Maybe I came off as a jerk, but I told them if they did not include the mats the deal was off.

Oh, they usually do. Its just that I didn't want their foam-backed mats if I was getting some in Munich. The ones you get there are rubber backed carpet, much more anti-slippage. No BMW logo, though. So I had the $85 document fee waived instead.

Garage List
Freebee mats

My dealer didn't charge for the mats and also threw in a BMW First Aid kit without charge as well as a delivery gift consisting of a BMW trunk bag and umbrella (Umbrellas are handy things in South Florida) . It's an individual thing with them.

Not bad, Capt. Jack. I got four splash guards installed also, but only 'cause I asked for that the last time around.

My attitude is if you got a lot of freebies, you probably didn't get a very good deal to start with.

true...dealers never giving u good deals unless u really fight for it. If they give you the stuff without asking much.....chances are, you paid for them already.

Possibly. Most people know what a good deal is by reading these forums, though.
