Mine is Electric Red, not Crimson, but it's similar. Honestly I only got it because it was the last 330i on the lot with the options I wanted, and I got a killer deal. I love it when it's clean, but it really shows the dirt and it isn't exactly subtle. I think there is a bit of concern from buyers that they'll have difficulty selling a red car, combined with the general belief that metallic colours have a higher resale value.
As a side note, I've only seen one other red E9x in Calgary.

I am a red lover.
But I just could not bring myself to order it on the 3 series coupe. My current car is a Brilliant red Audi S4. Not really my favorite shade of red either but I have grown to like it. This is now the second time I have purchased a 3 series BMW and not really liked the way the car looked in red. I do love Imola Red and Indianapolis red, The Crimson is actually a shade in between the Imola and the Brilliant red. I don't know what it is, but for some unknown reason, the red colors available on the 3 series (not talking about Imola) don't really complement the lines of the car. IMHO, ( and no offense intended) Electric Red and Crimson red make the car look cheap.
Also, there seems to currently be a preference from all owners of all cars for Silver/grey/dark /neutral colored cars . Some people think that having a brightly colored BMW makes you car stand out for the police to notice and ticket. Plus "older" owners usually go for more conservatively colored cars |

I'm over red. I had a Red Jeep Wrangler. It fades, and is too flashy.

Saw one at the dealer. Looked really sharp...kind of fire engine red with beige interior. Too flashy for me, it's like a supermodel's car. Don't know how it would look down the road though when the color is not as crisp and the styling becomes outdated...
