I need your advice; 335i Door Moldings?
I currently have a 330Ci which has door moldings that act like little bumpers to help stop most dings on my door. I have a 335i on order and wanted to get everyones opinion/advice on this.
Are there any door moldings made for the 335i by BMW or any after market company? I don't have anything Photoshoped, but do you think door moldings would ruin the look of the car? If you have a e90/e92 is it easy to get dings in your door or did BMW do something special with the new 3-series that makes dings harder to get? Thanks |

Nothing for the E92/93 but there is an OEM accessory door molding for E90/91. They come in black but can be painted. MSRP for that is $230 p/n is 51 190 406 581
I think it would look ungainly on our cars, that is my opinion.

E90 it MIGHT look okay, but the E92s lines really don't lend itself well to door moldings. The front fenders of the E92 are plastic, and they prevent dings fairly well I think, but the doors are just regular doors. Park far away from any other cars and you'll be better off
Edit - Doors are made of HC 180/HX180 Steel Last edited by sinnet112; 03-06-2007 at 02:03 AM.. |

No man dont get door moldings....you should be cautious enough of your doors and your surrondings not to need those lame ugly things. Just do what i do, always park far away from all others and always try to park in a spot that has a spot next to it that cant be parked in so that you can park as close to it as possible and away from other cars. For example park in a spot next to a handi cap spot so you can kinda part a little but of the car in the handi cap spot or along the blue lines. Park next to columns and pillars, next to planters, on the top level of indoor parking structures. Yes these are the lengths i go through to protect my baby from dings

i also like to keep an eye on my car, so i sit next to windows and what not of resturants and whatever else....so i can spot if a possible mother f**ker casually dings my door....that'll be the day that shit hits the fan. I was waiting in my car for my mom to get her stuff from trader joes the other day and some bitch in a lexus can clearly see and hear that someone is in my car (that person being me and listening to loud music) and though her doors never hit mine she made sure to open them wide and accidently hit her purse (which prolly had zippers and shit though no scratches..but still) on my door, i did my best effort to stare that bitch down and she never appologized or even looked at me...fuck dumb bitches like that. My old E46 330ci has so many dings on it...i never caught someone in the act but i'll addmit that i did nothing like i do now to prevent those dings. I even park in this medical buildings indoor parking structure that is right by my college and walk to class.
