VRM Wheel Question

Are VRM wheels stronger then the OEM BMW wheels? I've heard stories of bent wheels and would like to know which wheel would be better for rough roads.
Thanks

I'm running 19" 701s and am very satisfied for the price. Our roads in Ontario aren't great and I have no issues so far.

I have the hypersilver finish and while I aboslutely love the colour, it scratches easily. I think matte black or gunmetal would have been better in terms of durability.

Rough roads will be inclement to any wheel, especially if you have low profile tires. Whatever you choose, don't go super cheap.

OEM wheels in general will be stronger but that does not mean the VMRs are soft. They are more than suitable for daily use and are JWL and VIA certified. I would not hesitate to run them on a daily driver, even in pot hole ridden cities.

Our wheels are tested in accordance to guidelines provided by JWL/VIA, SAE, and TUV, the same set of guidelines that OEM Wheels are subjected to. Either way, no wheels will bend going over rough roads, but they might get damaged if you drive thru a pothole, curb or other road hazard.

My suggestion is to figure this out from a more real world perspective. For example if you have 17's on the car right now and you're falling into 3-4" potholes every other day, upgrading to a 20" wheel will probably result in bent wheels within one week
