Arrow Follow Up for Alarm Coding

For those having problems with coding the alarm, I have put together the list of values that need to be changed(thanks forum coders). Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
***Change these values at your own risk. I am not responsible if you mess your car up.***

-The alarm must be installed for this to work
-Here is a DIY (from CC 330i) if you have not installed it yet http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1487

-Add the value for the VO(vehicle options)
"+K302"
-adding this option would give you access to the DWAI and DWAS modules (and set alarm to default BMW values)
- (this step may not be necessary) change the values listed below

-DWAI module:
LAUTSTAERKE
nicht_aktiv > aktiv
ALARM_OPT_FERNLICHT
nicht_aktiv > aktiv
QUIT_AKUST_SCHAERF_KLAPPE
nicht_aktiv > aktiv
PANIK_ALARM
nicht_aktiv > aktiv
QUIT_AKUST_ENTSCH
nicht_aktiv > aktiv
DEF_QUIT_AKUST_ENTSCH
nicht_aktiv > aktiv
DEF_QUIT_OPT_ENTSCH
nicht_aktiv > aktiv
DEF_QUIT_AKUST_SCHAERF_KL
nicht_aktiv > aktiv
ANFRAGE_FENSTERPOSITIONEN
nicht_aktiv > aktiv
PIAU_AKUST_ENTSCH
nicht_aktiv > aktiv
PIAU_AKUST_SCHAERF_KLAPPE
nicht_aktiv > aktiv
SIGNAL_HK
nicht_aktiv > aktiv

-DWAS module: (change if chirp is too quiet)
BUZZER_HIGH_LEVEL
wert_06 > wert_04
wert_07 > wert_05
wert_08

-CAS: (panic alarm)
SONDERTASTE_PANIKALARM
nicht_aktiv > panikalarm
MOTORHAUBENKONTAKT (hood switch), thanks onebadmofo
nicht_aktiv > aktiv

-CAPPL: (change if equipped with idrive) It gives you the option to enable or disable the chirp
ACOUSTIC:
fkt_gesperrt > fkt_frei
C941C_QUITT_AKUST_KLAPPE
fkt_gesperrt > fkt_frei
K9416_QUITT_AKUST_ENTSCH
fkt_gesperrt > fkt_frei
C9413_QUITT_AKUST_SCHAERF
fkt_gesperrt > fkt_frei

Have fun guys!

This looks dead on. I was going to put together a DIY for the coding part of the install.

Interesting thing on my 09' E92 regarding the Alarm Chirp Volume:

I was going to code the volume higher, but decided to wait since I was getting an entire re-flash at the dealer with the latest & greatest software this week.

During my coding session, when I read my DWAS module, these are the settings from factory with the new re-flash:

BUZZER_LOW_LEVEL
wert_08

BUZZER_HIGH_LEVEL
wert_08

I set the high level to wert_04 just to check, & the chirp actually got quieter.

Apparently BMW reacted to complaints and set both volumes to wert_08 during one of their software upgrades...

So would you still need to take your car to the dealer after the DIY Install of the OEM Alarm and this coding?

No, at least that is my understanding. After reading the DIY alarm install, i figured there must be some software/coding to get the chirp/beep. Researched this forum and was glad to find the coding thread. You should check it out..

You don't have to code all those values.

Just code $302 to VO and then code the entire car to defaults. It will automatically set the correct values for the new VO.

Cool thanks, did not know that. If i don't code anything prior, seems like the easier way to go.

How do you code $302 to the VO? I'm guessing it means changing the FA somehow?

Yes, just add $302 to the FA.

Hello,
I think about of installing the alarm system into my BMW. But i am not sure because of the loudness. In Germany the alarm is very quiet but i do not know to which value BUZZER_HIGH_LEVEL is set in default. But i think it is not on wert_08.

Could anyone report me about the loudness with wert_08 and if it makes sense to install the alarm on my car regarding of the loundness? I do not want to have a quite alarm system.

Thanks

How do you "code the entire car to defaults"? Delete the man file then "process car" > "code car" ?

Follow this guide to do what he suggested.

BTW, on my CAPPL module, the value for ACOUSTIC was nicht_aktiv. I changed it with aktiv. I didn't have fkt_gesperrt for this particular entry.

@OP did you figure out how to enable the hood switch? I've programmed everything but the hood switch still doesn't work. Does yours work?

Regarding the hood switch
I think either in CAS or FRM module search for "Motorhaube" and set to aktiv
You know how I found it? I translated "bonnet" to German in google translate
All those years of watching Top Gear finally paid off. I couldn't find anything when I translated "hood"

Also for testing purposes you can pull the switch, that's the same as pressing it down and holding.

actually I haven't tried tested the hood switch. I will do that as soon as I have time.

Okay I added +K302 to the CAS module per the pdf, then deleted all text in the fsw_psw.man file. I hit Process Car then Code Car and got this error message:
sys-008 job not found

The clock reset on the car, but the date is the same. What's going on? Do I need to add +K302 to the FRM module as well? The fsw_psw.man file is still blank.

Well that was fun, finally got the alarm coded and fully functional. I changed the FA on the CAS and NFRM modules, then tried to process car > code car but kept getting an error. Finally just coded the individual CAS, DWAI, and DWAS modules using the blank .man file trick and it worked! Lock/unlock chirp, hood switch, panic alarm, tilt switch all functional.

Can anyone code my alarm in the San Gabriel or Orange County? Alarm is activated but there is no panic and the confirmation chirp is very low.

for panic search for SONDERTASTE_PANIKALARM in CAS

for the chirp volume search BUZZER_HIGH_LEVEL in DWAS, change the wert value
