This tire has not been released to the North American market and it does not appear that it will come here this year. It looks like the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport will be among the best of the new tires becoming available this year.

Thanks Gary,

I am aware of the super sport but its my understanding that the size won't work for my car. I have a 2006 325i with sport package so I have 225/45 17 and 255/40 17 setup.

According to:

http://blog.tirerack.com/blog/codys-...er-sport-sizes

the 17 inch sizes don't match up for my wheels. Which is curious because they PS2 was available in my size, albeit not the ZP. Any idea if they plan on releasing more sizes of the super sport as time goes on?

Sadly you're correct, no 255/40R17 in the Pilot Super Sport as of yet. Hopefully next year they will expand the sizing but no plans to do so as of yet.

Many European car journalists have already ranked the Asymmetrics 2 above the Conti SC 5P & Pirelli PZero & Bridgestone S001 for overall performance. It did not have a chance yet to go head to head with Michelin PSS.

I've got them since yesterday on my e92 335i (18" 225 front-255 rear) and my first impressions are absolutely positive. Smooth, rigid and comfortable, silent ride.
I can update you as soon as I've done some 1000km, when they should be ready for some real action. I opted for them because they're said to be great in rainy weather as well, which is -unfortunately common in our region
Here in the Benelux the GY Eagle F1 Asymmetric 1 will disappear in a couple of months, I learnt.

Cheers!

Confirmed. Asymmetric 2 is available in North America in June 2011 but the sizes may be limited.

Got these mounted today in 18" staggered sizes.

You can really feel the superior grip (tested in dry so far, but looking at reviews this tire should dominate the wet department aswell), initial turn-in improvement and braking on these tires. The reduced rolling resistance is also noticable, both in how the car feels at speed and on the MPG-meter.

Coming from the original F1 Asymmetrics, I feel Goodyear has really "fixed" what was lacking in the previous version, with the new tires being lighter, having better handling/grip/feel and excellent braking. Would recommend these to anyone in a heartbeat!

They were also cheaper than other leading brands (eg Michelin, Bridgestone) here in Europe.

You can read about what they improved with this tire here: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article...-2-is-here.htm

How's the feel compared to the Potenza Re050a RFTs?

I've got them one week ago ~ 1200 kms (18" 225/255), replacing RE050a RFT.

The huge improvement in ride quality was obvious from the first few kms. The smoothness, comfortability and almost silent riding of the tyres were devine going from badly uneven worn "B-Stones" (front outer edge and rear inner edge of the tyre)...

The car feels a lot better in motorways than it used to be (cruising at ~120-130km/h), the grip is oustanding, cornering and braking are more interactive than before.

I have lost the sharp turn-in (like Go-Kart which I liked very much) but I believe it is matter of getting used to it rather than a real disadvantage.

I cannot comment on rolling resistance since the weather here is getting to hot (~38 oC) and the clima is working more than it used to be, going from 5,8 to 6,0 l/100km the last 1000kms.

I was impressed with the stifness of the RFT while they were trying to remove the tyre from the wheel and how easy was mounting the Goodyear instead.

All in all there is a feeling going from stones to rubber again!

Hope they will not wear too soon since it seems to be a rather soft tyre.

Gary,
Do you have any more information on the Goodyear Asymmetric 2? I'm looking for two 275/30-19 Goodyear Asymmetrics, but I can't find them anywhere. I was hoping that the Asymmetric 2 would come out to replace them. I just need rear tires -- my front tires are fine and I want to stay with the same tire at all four corners. Thanks.
