Dyno n55 procede & DP
Okay i am back home now... Something was up with either the dyno or my tune control My car was going wild in codes lol airbag error abs error tire pressure error etc etc.. But when i took it home all those codes went away.. The dyno guy was having problems getting the dyno to read but a quick call to shiv and he explained and directed the dyno guy...
BIG THANKS TO SHIV, Best customer service i have ever had by far! Anyways the car put down 293whp & 370TQ The TQ was real steady and didn't have any huge boost spikes etc. but the HP was way off to me, My car feels alot faster than 293WHP which is insane to me.. The dyno guy started doing something with his computer trying to figure out some issues and i set the car to map 0 to map 1 and 2 and it only gained about 17WHP from 0-1 and 2 so there is something wrong with either my car on the dyno or the dyno itself. But here is my last run... BTW Dyno guy was hella nice and hella cool, it was at buttinwillow race way in California.. He let me do like 12 pulls for the price of 3.. This is what made me feel un easy is the pull.. on map 2 WEIRD its kind of like it went to stock.. |

I'm thinking you should put down more than 293hp for sure..... TQ looks right though......

Getting power out of the N55 is pretty tricky since its a MAF car. Post up the 370wtq runs as well as the stock runs also. Maybe seeing the curves will help us spot the problem.

The other problem your dyno operator had was that he didn't know not to press past the throttle kick-down switch. When he did this, the car would downshift. This is why he thought your transmission was slipping. Once I explained this to him, that issue was solved. I'm actually on a dyno right now as I type this. I'll be writing up a "How To Dyno Your N55/N54" tutorial just to avoid these issues in the future. BTW, our n55 with our DP and home-brew 3" exhaust is putting down: 353whp/425lbft at 15psi 342whp/380lbft at 12psi Pretty easy formula and will be explained later tonight... Cheers, Shiv |

If we set the max boost to more boost then the 14psi you are telling us to run now on the N55 wouldnt it make more, essentially whatever we set it to? Is there anyway to set it to say Max of 16, but only run 14? Slightly confused on what you are trying to say here. |

From my testing today:
15psi 14psi 12psi Stock tune Mods: Procede v5 3-21, Vishnu DP, Vishnu Charge pipe, muffler shop catback with dual magnaflow mufflers CF: 1.05 I'll post a 'how-to dyno' later tonight. The procedure is pretty common sense but sometimes things can get overlooked and you end up with an invalid result. Cheers. shiv Last edited by OpenFlash; 03-23-2011 at 07:49 PM.. |

what a cool place to dyno
"7's only racing" awesome. so increasing the boost delay values // or increasing max boost values. I'm add'n that to the mental note. awaiting "how to dyno ur n54/n55" n55 such a torque monster. keikdasneak did u happen to get the runfiles saved to ur computer? dynojet has a free download software to read ur files.

Shockin, is yours an automatic? If so like Shiv said the throttle switch kicked in the percent increase on load and i guess down shifted. This happened to me on the dyno as well with a automatic 335i.
We have to gradually pull up around 2500 to 2700 rpms before we can stab the thorttle. |
