Short shift

Help me understand the difference between this:

and this:

http://store.nexternal.com/shared/St...t=products.asp

There is also a BMW Performance SSK similar to the UUC. What is gained by going with the kit as opposed to just the shift rod? Are shorter shifts still gained with the rod only or does it just effect the height?

Thanks!

I'm personally am pist off at UUC right now their customer service sucks. I sent in my DSSR because it was defective 1 month ago still haven't got a replacement. I call them almost everyday and know one wants to talk to me so F*** them. ****The UUC short shifter feels really nice though**** it really hurts me to say that...... don't know about the DSSR but I assume it makes the shifts feel stiffer. I would honestly try out the Rouge SSK HPA and other vendors sell it here. The BMW SSK is over priced and I believe still not a solid shifter as the other 2 I mentioned.

EDIT - I take back what I said about overpriced. It's not to bad but far about 100 more you can get a nicer solid shifter the only plus for the SSK is you get a new boot and shift knob.

If you are looking for a drasticly improved shifter, you probably want a comprehensive solution like th UUC which does more than just change the length and ratio (above pivot to below pivot).
I bought the shift knob from the 335is and it sits a little lower and actually made a small improvement in shift feel and it looks unbelievable and feels great in your hands...

I also have the perforated leather m-tech steering wheel. The two look BA together and make the car a lot more pleasurable to drive!!
