Dinan stg1 to Cobb review

I have a 07 335i that had the Dinan stg1 flash. My 07 has no oil cooler so stg2 was not an option.

Thoughts on Dinan stg1 it is definitely stronger than stock not earth shattering but enough to give you a real exhilarating feel when you step on the gas the power is strong but power leaves quick feels better to shift around 6k to keep the pull feeling going cause going to red line seems to struggle.

Dinan was always smooth would easily say much better than stock and a nice linear pull but it still left me wanting more so.... I wanted a different tune I was really looking to go with the V5 and just when I was about to pull the trigger, Cobb comes along and gives me what Dinan was able to do but so much more at my own finger tips and half the price.

Ok on to the Cobb review installed 4/11. The hand held device is nice fits easily in your palm, the installation was just like the tutorial video took like 10-15 minutes tops. Having an 07 (my cars build date was 10/06) I though t i was going to have huge problems but i had zero issues i use the stg1 93 octane map. The main thing is ensure u download the firm ware for the 07 vehicles.

After installation was complete i went for a spin at first i really felt zero difference i thought even Dinan stg1 felt stronger but I guess it takes a bit to adjust. The Dinan flash did that also it got stronger as i drove it for a bit. So i kept driving and sure enough after bout 20-30 minutes bout 40-50 miles later of driving the car got stronger and stronger to the point of no comparison between the tunes. the power was fantastical borderline horrifying.

The day after, the car feels really strong. While driving to work today and getting on it periodically the pull is amazing. When i got on to the interstate from the access road i got on it hard the real difference between the two flashes with Dinan i know that i grinned when i stepped on it. With the Cobb i am sure if a picture of my face was taken you would have seen nothing but fear it is really scary fast or strong whatever you want to call it.

I really think now prior to stepping on the gas cause it is so much stronger the forgiving feel that the car had when u gassed it is definitely gone she's a BEAST now.

Cobb is well worth it, more than i ever thought or expected and i am not lying when i say scary fast if you have not had tune in it before, it will make your arse pucker .

Today driving to

COBB Stage I makes about the same power as the Dinan Stage II... I'm surprised that it doesn't make an oil cooler necessary... have you had any overheating issues?? What temp do you normally run while driving in a spirited fashion?

No overheating issues at all but i am a normal daily driver get on it periodically.
Dinan stg1 is really zero comparison and stg2 not sure about but i know Cobb pulls much longer where Dinan stops pulling quick. I am boosting right at 15.5 psi it says. So she feels really strong, this is way more than i ever imagined how the power would feel Dinan stg1 just felt like a little muscled stock this is a whole other animal now.

^1 you won't have any over heating issues unless you drive it hard (not a pull or two...).
About boost, you probably see around 15.5 PSI but thats just for a short duration, it will taper down to about 13 PSI.
But yeah you're right, the car is animal compared to Dinan s1
