AutoX - May 15th - Arcadia, CA
I'm going to sign up if any other Zposters would like to come we can have a little posse. I want to get into the local autoxs more and this will only be my second autox here in CA. I think I just need more encouragement like I had back on the East Coast.

I just attended the last 2 AutoX events this weekend for the Sacramento chapter and it was a blast! Would like to see more M coupes out there doing AutoX.

I'll be there. I'm practically within walking distance. Most likely bringing the MZ4 Coupe, although if the stars align and I score a new set of rims for the WRX I may bring that with the Hoosiers.

Cool Thanks.
oh and one more thing. I installed my springs/struts/sway bars this past sunday. When I do the alignment, it will be done on the M3 wheels I have on but I will be using ellipsoids for the event... Will The alignment settings greatly effect the performance since the ellipsoids are not as wide as the M3 wheels? Thanks again |

I can't say I know for sure but I do not believe it matters that you are doing the alignment with the M3 wheels on. Swapping to your ellipsoids should not have any profound effect on how your alignment settings perform. The difference in performance should be mostly from the narrower tires and change in wheel/tire weight. I think that's what you are asking right?

Regarding the helmet, if you don't have one the chapter has loaners you can borrow. But if you must get one, make sure it is rated Snell M2005 or SA2005or better.
Alignment should be done on the newest tires with the most even wear.

Only if you're an instructor.

I highly doubt your friend will be disappointed with a ride in an instructor's car.
Tell you what, I'll stuff a couple of tennis balls down my shirt and give your friend a ride. Since with the helmet on with my balaclava and visor down no one will be able to tell who's driving anyway, your friend can pretend I'm you. All 5'11", 225 lbs of you. Wearing a tacky yellow shirt.
