Question Question about custom exhaust options?

Ok so I've read/heard good things about this Custom exhaust shop called "LaBree" in LA and I decided to stop by and check them out and I was quoted $1K for a stainless catback mandrel bent Quad style setup with a new X-pipe I was wondering if that was a reasonable price or am I getting hosed? I know there work is good I've seen several examples and he's very picky but I was wondering for the most gains what should I ask for is that enough? Or should I get rid of the second set of cats and what not?We also briefly touched on possibly making "Split downpipes" does that mean anything to you all? help I just want to do this right the first time and I don't really think I need to spend 1500+ on a foo foo cookie cutter exhaust with dual single tips.Let me know peeps

$1000 for a custom catback sounds nice, but keep in mind it does NOT have the engineering behind it, like say an Eisenmann. This custom exhaust will look good, and probably sound good, but you may not see the gains an engineered exhaust will have.

For your 335, I'd wait a little longer for more reputable companies to come out with their versions. Then do a comparison with styling, performance, and cost.

On my E46 I went for an exhaust from a local exhaust. It sounded almost perfect for what i wanted, really loud. It was a lot cheaper than an engineered exhaust. However my butt dyno told me that lost power. Were I to do it again, I would have saved my money for an engineered one. So have a little more patience and wait and see what comes out.
