Well, I picked up my brand new, shiney 323i, black on black E90 from the dealership today! Got to drive her home, smile and have a little chat with my new baby while installing chrome tips, black and white roundells, and smoked licence plate frames... then sure enough, I accidentally locked ALL of the keys in the trunk. SONOFABITCH! Just towed the car to the dealer as they requested, and ordered a new key from Germany. Guess I'll see her again in about 10 business days. Damn. As if the 3 month wait wasn't enough.

...the upside is, that by the time I get the car back, I'll have blacklines, smoked overlays, and a gloss black grill waiting to be installed. Woo hoo! Guess I'll be able to laugh about it later.

How? Did you put the keys in the trunk, then get in and press the central lock button, get out of the car, then close the door?

On a side note, I had an "experience" in the LR3 where I actually could lock the keys in the car while the vehicle was running without using a 2nd key. Odd sequence of events to make it work, but it can be done.

What happened, was I just got it from the dealership, so all of the papers and spare keys were in the glovebox with the car locked. Then I set the other keys down in the trunk to do something and the trunk closed on me! aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

CA is unfortunately not available on the 323i (or even on the 328i / xi) in Canada.

You should ask the dealer if he has windows in stock (or a glass place). If so, smash the damn window and get into your car. You can have the window replaced same day.

I wouldn't be able to go 10 days!!
