thanks 1stnewcar
I did read that it quotes prices and speaks of torque and HP , does not give an indepth analysis on the performance or any indication of possible speed increases
you put that very informative thread in, any more advice /questions i need to ask DMS?

DMS have a good reputation. They are slightly more conservative than say Kempower which takes it to 440Nm (205hp)
Check this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=dms
I´m planning a remap myself and I think I´ll go for DMS.
Probably the 406Nm will be a little nicer to the MT box than the 440Nm.

If you're having it done today - you can be the first to give us an informative, in-depth review

Seriously, I haven't seen anything re speed increases etc. I just know that adding 30bhp is going to be

Let us know how it goes...

Pads' 320d has had a DMS remap. I went in his car on Saturday and it gives noticably more shove in the belly than mine has.

Its a significant increase. power is up to 209bhp from 163 and torque is approx 420Nm up from 350Nm. Consumption is the same or better, my car has been in a few times for a service and had bits replaced on warranty without any bother from dealer. My car is really starting to open up now and the engine seems peachy at 47k miles.

In real driving terms I reckon its now similar to an e90 325d or maybe what a D3 feels like as the performance figures seem similar. I could keep up most of the time with a fast moving Beaufarter in his 330i at the meet because the route suited a torquey car,I was just a bit busier on the gears.

Basically you have modern day hot hatch performance from a diesel saloon car returning 45+ mpg with exceptional high end performance.

Hope that this helps, oh yeah 3rd & h gears are fun when joining motorways

DMS 320d remap review

hi group ,
I am truly stunned that i was missing out on performance this accessble.
the review.
painless from start to finish, the tech james from DMS arrived on my doorstep and started his technical wizardry with eproms and flashers . a half hour later the car was ready for a spin and he came along with me as this was just to test that the system integrity was not compromised .Then i took it out for a long fast 100 mile spin
what was immedeatly apparent was that the engine did not sound as strangled as it did before the upgrade, there was no noticeble difference in first and second gear performance under 1200-1500 rpms , its when you engage 3rd gear that you start noticing that the world was going quicker than normal. in gear acceleration is phenomenol to say the least there is no more the need to change down from third gear when moving about the town as the sheer torque would pull you clean from 1200 rpms on till it revs very freely up to 3800 when it does become a little hoarse .
fourth above 1800 rpm is a doodle just a flex of your right foot and you are already at the ton and hunting desperately for a higher gear , fifth comes in a blur and now the need for changing down from sixth during motorway maneouvres is a thing of the past .
i was truly surprised at the amount of grunt available for overtaking at 2000 rpm just press you foot down and you are in speeds which would make you a speedwalker for life with her majestys goverment looking very unfavorably on you.
up in the hills the sheer torque this car now pisses comes into its own and you end up with a manic grin in the flashing dtc light, just make sure you have enough tyre tread left because trust me it will ,compared to the unchipped version, rip your face off and shred the tyres to boot .
i dont know how many of our group have noticed a flat spot in the torque curve while normal driving around in the city at about 12-1300 rpm , well that is a thing of the past . the milage that it gave me on the motorway blast and the sheer drivebility of this car now on city roads has made the Dms chip the one to have its seriously fast and something that every car enthusiast should have ......right DMS make the cheque out to ...
thanks for the support guys . hope this helps :rocks:

Has anyone has their DMS'd car on the rolling road to see the actual figures compared to all other tuners that seem to have them already published / proven....

Do DMS 320d's have 208bhp ? and 408nm torque............

DMS claim that their upgrade is undetectable with any normal BMW diagnostic equipment. Obviously it would be detectable if anyone drove the car or put it on a rolling road.

People who have DMS'd their cars do not see to suffer from additional smoke.

DMS still seem to be quiet about the 335d - I think it's early days, but if you extrapolate from the figures for a DMS 535d you would be talking about nearly 700nm of torque.

DMS Still quiet about 335d ?

Not according to an email response from them yesterday:

"We have done over 30 in number of the new 335D. We take to 338 BHP and 508 lb/ft torque."

and when I asked about 0-60:

"0-60 mph is around 5.4 seconds and 0-100 mph around 12.75 seconds"

I was asking about the E90.

Regards,

Paul

They claim 0-60 in 5.4 even tho its 338bhp? didnt think it was far off that standard, i know the book figure is 6.1 but feels faster than that, would have thought the 335d and 335i would be very close as standard which is 5.5 for the 335i correct?

I think I heard somewhere that DMS also "under quote" speed and perhaps it varies from car to car. Maybe this one doesn't have a lot of spare oomph although I thought it was the same engine as 535d so you would think so given the difference it makes on that car. Who knows. Maybe it is early days so they are going easy on it.... not sure. Just posting as advised.
