Landscapers or Yardmen Denver Area
Any yard men in the group? I need some serious help with my lawn. I don't know what the heck going on with it. Not wild about TrueGreen/Chem Lawn (sorry if you work for them).

Yes. It's looking sick as hell. I put some fertilizer on it back in late March. It's never looked this bad. It has a ton of brown patches. I don't think it's snow mold. We didn't have enough snow this year. What do you think it is?

have you started watering it? sometimes its cheaper to just get a skid of grass and lay it down than revive dead patches..

If it hasn't greened up from this recent rain, it may be dead. Have seen this quite a bit in my neighborhood (luckily not in my yard), large dead spots while rest of grass is green and healthy. Not sure what causes it, maybe grubs or something killing the roots.
Agree with express, lay down new grass, but find out and fix what caused the problem first. |

It is likely winter kill due to the super dry winter we had. We've got a great landscape guy here in the Springs - I can ask him if he has any recommendations in Denver if you'd like.

-Rich[/QUOTE That would be great. I checked last night. Doesn't appear to be grubs or bugs. Dug up a few patches looking for signs. None. Don't think it's fungus. I'm going to try some gypsum in a few spots and see what happens. It helps break down clay soils and helps get nutrients to the lawn. If that doesn't work, I'm moving forward and Xeroscape the whole friggn yard.

It's both front and back yards. If I start piecing it with sod, it's going to look like crap. I don't want to drop a butt load of cash on sod for the entire yard. I have about 3,500-4,000 sq ft of yard. I'm guessing around 2K worth of sod, not to mention the time to do it.
