Ring trip 29 May

Weather permitting I'm planning on going up to the Ring on this Sat. Let me know if your interested in going and we can meet up/or drive up.

thanks...can't for this weekend. After two back to back 1addicts events and now being TDY, my honey do list is getting longer by the minute I'm away.

Have fun and be safe. Also don't handhold video cameras...the guy saw my daughter filming and told us something like a 5000 euros fine.....but he didn't say anything about my camera stuck on the window inside the car.
So not sure what they are enforcing.

I'd be careful with the cameras mounted on the windshield. By what I understand, they still have a camera ban even though they are renting them out now. So if you are using your own, be careful.

I am out also for this weekend. I wish I could though.

Yeah me and Nick saw as you pulled out. We thought he saw the window mount.....I know they can also kick you off the Ring and ban you for repeat offenses.

Are you Not allowed to Film your Nordschleife Round??

normally not, but loads of people do it as you can see on youtube. I also always film, nobody approached me so far...

It "used" to be banned by the former managers of the 'ring but the new owners see this ($$$) in their eyes so they are now renting out Go-Pro cameras for people so they can record at the tune of 29 Euros a lap (I think).

I have recorded most of my runs but I put the camera on after the gates and take it off before the exit

That really sucks... The € mess up the whole Ring

Would Sunday the 29th be a good day to check out the Ring? I won't be albe to get out there on Saturday but I should have a loaner car on Sunday.

David,

That weekend is going to be a SUPER CROWDED weekend. To find a place to stay is going to be a total BI%$H. I spoke to a friend that went last year for the 24 Hr race and he literally camped out where we were when we did the nurburgring meet.

It's looking more like if I go it will be Sunday. The rings open pretty much all day then. Sat's they do the evening.
