Can this be coded?

Hi thanks for taking the time to read this. My coding cable should be arriving any day now.... Maybe tomorrow, anyways I'm going to start out with some simple coding and clearing an error. But there are two things I want to try if possible

1. Foglights automatically on when the car is started

2. Rain sensing wipers automatically on.

Let me know if these are possible. Thanks

quick answer, Yes to both.

You'll need to set your fogs as your DRL

Got my cable in I'm installing all the software now. If somebody could help point me in the right direction on coding the foglights as drl and rain sensing wipers always on I'd appreciate it.

And to any 06 owners maybe some 07 I got this cable http://cgi.ebay.com/BMW-Diagnostic-C...item27bbbe0376 its a little cheaper but wont work with any newer model BMW's.

Pretty sure you can't code the auto wipers default on... News to me if you can.

I dont Know If it can be coded or not, but as I posted in another forum, I hope that you don't live in a heavy snow area and that you never go to the automatic car wash.

I've been wanting to buy a cable for my 2006 325i for awhile now but don't want to drop the $100. (I've spent WAY too much money on my car since I bought it a couple weeks ago) On the link to the eBay page it doesn't list e90s as compatible. Does it work fine with your car? If so, I'm gonna order it asap.

Works perfectly except inpa but I don't think it's because of the cable. But I coded the digital speedometer windows close holding the lock button and automatic windows now work with the door open. I tried using the software that came with it and that didnt work for me so I got the software from the coding success thread.

What is inpa? I kinda figured I'd use the software from the coding thread anyways since all the tutorials are gonna be based off of it. I ordered my cable a couple days ago. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to get here!!

Why do you always want fog lights on? You know they are for fog right? Not because they are cool, not to mention blinding...

Everyone drives around with their fog lights on for me it's easier to see at night and they are aimed lower than your low beams they don't blind anyone.

INPA can be used to scan and clear error codes don't know what else it can be used for as I haven't messed with it too much. Good luck I don't remember how long my cable took to come in but I think it was about a week or less.

has there been any progress on enabling this feature?

to me, it seems non-sensical to have the technology of automatic, rain sensing wipers - but can can only be enabled with manual input.

could this be the case that Audi or another manufacturer have a pantent on 'rain sensing wipers that turn on automatically' as opposed to 'rain sensing wipers'

i always assume many of the nice features that are disabled by default are due to licensing issues in some territories, would i be right in assuming this for many of the features?
