Open window and rain makes wrinkled door leather.

This morning, much to my surprise when I got into my 330xi, the passengers window was wide open. I could swear I didn't open it since it has been raining for two days solid. Maybe it opened by itself??? No idea. Anyhow, the rain ran down the door leather and armrest leather and now it has waves in it. It doesn't feel like the carpet is wet at all so I don't think a ton of rain got in. Apparently, enough to pucker up the door liner leather a bit. The leather feels dry, but soft and loose.

I drove the car a lot today with the heat on and let it run with the AC on for about an hour. It seems a tiny bit better but the leather is not as flat as the other doors. Will it shrink back down and tighten back up flat as it dries? Is there any treatment I can do to help it flatten back out? Am I screwed? New door panel?

Position the end of a hair dryer eight to 10 inches away from the wrinkled leather surface. Move the end back and forth so that the hot air is not concentrated on one section of the leather for too long. This prevents the dryer from burning the leather

The heat from the hot air in the dryer will gradually shrink the leather, tightening its surface (this is the way leather is fitted in upholstery shops, i.e. shrink to fit) and effectively removing the wrinkles. Hair dryers operate at a lower temperature than professional heat guns that are typically used to shrink fit leather. As a result, it might be several minutes before the wrinkles are completely gone

Finally use Leather Master Soft Touch (ex Vital)to restore the elasticity

Thanks for the tip. The sun dried it up and it returned to ALMOST it's original flatness. I have some Lexol, but probably should get some Leather Master stuff.
